Okay. You ready for this?
I am dead asleep in the back of the van, dreaming about naked girls serving me cheeseburgers when I wake up to smoke pouring out of the front of the van. Of course I'm dead asleep, so I have no idea what the fuck is going on. My first thought is “We're goin' down!” I got arm loads of bags, starting to throwing gear out the back, yelling “Stop, drop and roll! Stop drop and roll!” Turns out the van was just overheating.
I tend to overreact.
This normally wouldn't be that big of a deal, but, seeing as the boys just spent a mellow grand on a tune up (including a new radiator) we knew something was up. A call was placed to AAA where Aaron got one of the most inept operators in the history of time. No matter how many times we told her exactly where we were and what was wrong, she would ask for our location as well as our problem. It was like a goddamn Monty Python sketch. After about thirty minutes of this, she tells us that a tow truck is on the way. Ten minutes later the tow truck driver calls because he can't figure where we are... Did I mention it was pouring rain?
A quick tow to the mechanic and we find out that when they put in the new radiator, the main coolant hose was put on upside down, causing the fan belt to rub a whole through it. Oh, for the extra punch in the nuts: since all the coolant went blowing out that whole, there is a ticking noise and a chance the motor could be shot. Lucky for us the noise went away once they replaced the hose and we pulled in just in time to set up and play.
Stayed tuned, maybe tomorrow David's illegitimate child will show up at a show!
Time to drink a couple and go to bed. See you in Louisville!
